From configurator to Shopify product

The pCon.cloud configurator is embedded directly in the Shopify shop so the configuration remains part of the normal shopping experience.

The customer configures the furniture using the available OFML data and product options.

When the customer clicks Add to cart, pCon sends the configuration to our backend through the OCI interface.

Our backend creates a Shopify product live with the title, image, article numbers and configuration details stored as line item data.

The newly generated product is added directly to the cart and can then continue through Shopify like any other product.

Pricing for manufacturers and retailers

For a manufacturer such as de Sede, the pricing logic can be based on a single manufacturer catalogue.

For a retailer such as Kibemo, catalogues from several manufacturers can be handled within the same solution.

Retailers can apply a different margin factor for each manufacturer.

Individual rounding rules can also be applied, including whole amounts or psychological pricing with prices ending in 9.

The logic can handle prices in CHF and EUR, with de Sede displaying prices including VAT.

Checkout, quotes and clean operation

After configuration, the purchase continues through the standard Shopify checkout.

At Kibemo, customers can also request a quote instead of purchasing their configuration directly.

The configurator can be integrated to match the existing shop design, as with Kibemo's dedicated configurator window.

Every generated Shopify product is marked so it can be clearly identified as a temporary configuration.

After a fixed period, Shopify Flow automatically deletes these products to keep the product catalogue clean.

pCon projects already live
We have implemented the integration for two different business models. One is a manufacturer with its own catalogue, the other a retailer working with several manufacturers.

de Sede
For de Sede, we integrated a pCon configurator with one manufacturer catalogue directly into the Shopify shop. The pricing logic supports CHF and EUR including VAT and rounds prices to whole amounts. The project has been live since April 2025.

Kibemo
At Kibemo, the integration works with catalogues from several manufacturers and a separate margin factor for each manufacturer. Prices use psychological rounding and the configurator opens in its own window styled to match the shop. Customers can buy directly or request a quote.

Who it is for
The solution is designed for furniture manufacturers and retailers already working with OFML data or pCon catalogues. If your products can already be configured in pCon, Shopify can turn that configuration into a direct sales process.

Why use Shopify
The configurator does not need to recreate the cart, checkout and shop functionality as well. pCon handles the configuration while Shopify continues with the existing sales process.
